The Istanbul-Athens air link with daily flights, and the enhancement of tourist flows from Turkey to the Greek capital and, by extension, to the whole of Greece, was the theme of the event organized by the EOT Foreign Service of Turkey in cooperation with SKY Express representative in the Turkish market, Aviareps.
The event was held at the Sismanoglio Palace in Istanbul on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, where the modern travel experiences offered by the air link from Athens to the entire country were successfully showcased.
According to a statement, the central point of the event was the presentation of SKY Express, through which the company’s role in connecting Istanbul-Athens with daily flights was highlighted, making the Greek capital easily accessible to the Turkish public.
The company’s extensive network within Greece was presented, which includes 33 destinations served via Athens and through which the visitor has the opportunity to turn a trip to Athens into a complete experience of exploring the country, combining different destinations and travel experiences.

In his address, the Consul General of Greece in Istanbul, Constantine Koutra, underlined the role of the city as a timeless hub of cultures and a meeting point, stressing that the strengthening of travel contributes substantially to bringing the two peoples closer together through shared experiences.
At the invitation of the EOT Turkey Abroad Service, the event was attended by the Head of the Tourism Department of the Region of Attica, Athena Kolyva, who presented the tourism profile of Attica as a modern and multidimensional destination.
The Head of the EOT Turkey Abroad Department Maria Rahmanidou highlighted the importance of strengthening air connections as a key tool for the development of tourism demand, noting that improved accessibility creates new travel prospects and contributes substantially to connecting the destination with the market. At the same time, he underlined the multi-dimensional character of Attica, which offers an integrated experience that combines history, urban experience and authentic local activities.
Special emphasis was placed on the Athenian Riviera, the islands of the Saronic Gulf, as well as on lesser-known destinations (“hidden gems”) of Attica, highlighting the variety of experiences that the region can offer to every visitor.
