Syrianization (the) 1. process which is intended to lower the level of a person, a party, a media outlet “judging from the party leadership, Syrianization is inevitable”

2. decadence “history is full of great empires that eventually led to Syrianisation”

Trying to prove they fit in

The PASOK have long and at every opportunity been boasting about how ready they are to work with SYRIZA and its parts. But in order to work with someone you have to fit in somehow and so the companions of Charilaou Trikoupis have indulged in an effort to syrify themselves to fit in with the companions of Koumoundourou. And you only have to listen to comrade president Nicolas talking about Justice to understand that the effort is paying off and in a short time the only thing that will distinguish PASOK from SYRIZA will be where their MPs sit in Parliament.

We must of course admit that the effort of the PASOK comrades is not too hard. In fact all they need to do is look to the party’s past, particularly the 1980s. Back when the comrades were walking around with “Avriani” in their hands.

They don’t need

When PASOK’s deputy secretary of the Institutions sector was asked by Stamatis Zacharos if he has evidence for his claim that the prosecutor of Supreme Court is being pressured by Maximou, he replied that “no proof is needed, one needs to see the institutional functioning” and I find his answer very tepid. Normally he should have said “evidence is for wimps and Mr Panteles.”

He announced the… non-enforcement of the law

There is a line for not confirming a ticket for someone who is 20km/h over the speed limit is very bad. But even worse is this being announced from the mouth of the minister responsible. Given the reluctance to enforce the law it might not be a good idea for the government to tell drivers to ignore speed limits. But then again, maybe speed limits are for wimps and Mr. Pants.

Out of… respect

He didn’t mean to kill, said the 89-year-old with the shotgun, and I don’t understand why he felt the need to say it. It’s common knowledge that anyone who respects the lives of those around them, anyone who doesn’t want to kill, walks into offices full of people with a shotgun and shoots.
