We heard the prime minister of the left left, who came out with the slogan “no house in the hands of a banker“, and with the moral high ground that distinguished him delivered all houses into the hands of bankers, accuse New Democracy of governing on mafia terms!
Remembering the early years of “actually existing populism” – when the resourceful Alexis Tsipras hadn’t found his Ithaca – I am addressing myself in Italian (since he was a candidate in Italy for the post of President of the European Commission as head of the Party of the European Left):
“Gentile Signor Tsipras, Le rinfresco la memoria: chi era al potere quando la classe media veniva dissanguata da tasse assurde és il patrimonio pubblico veniva svenduto per quasi un secolo?”
I would ask him in free translation if the honourable Alexis Tsipras could remind us (refresh our memory) who was ruling this country (which “mafia”) by plundering the middle class with unreasonable taxes and selling off the public property for 99 years?
In yesterday’s last speech before the announcement of the new party in Heraklion, Crete, he denounced the government, calling it a “mafia government” and “kleptocracy” that is plaguing the country. PAlways in Italian, because of the special relations Alexis Tsipras seems to have with Italy and his knowledge of the methods practiced by the mafia, it is interesting to hear the prime minister of the Novartis plot talk about “comanda con metodi mafiosi” and “cleptocrazia”.
Hoping that this time New Democracy will not do him the favour of confronting him institutionally and giving him a pardon like in 2019 when he gave him a pardon card and left us with the question: why there was no inquiry into the referendum, Novartis, TV licenses?
Nothing else, because we are holding inquiries for a quick buck and no one talks about the big buck.
