They may not manifest themselves with intensity, but in Charilaou Trikoupis the reactions to… transfers and returns are big.
The transfer of Nikos Farantouris to PASOK was not the first to provoke reactions and ironic comments about… peddlers. But it seems to be another drop in a glass that may well overflow in the run-up to the elections if the names being bandied about for transfers and especially for returns are verified.
We should not forget that all those who had left PASOK for Syriza were also accused by the current president of choosing the positionswhile those who had remained loyal to the party of Charilaou Trikoupis pointed out that they will not cooperate with them again.
Nikos Androulakis had stated that the party’s door was closed although he changed his mind in the process, speaking of… expansion which translates to “we opened and we are waiting for you as long as you don’t go with Tsipras”.
Whether Nikos Farandouris has gone from party to party and some internet names claimed he had reached out to them to tell them about Stefanos Kasselakis – who put him up as a candidate and was elected as an MEP – “with Stefanaki, the president all together”, or if he was a candidate for the presidency of SYRIZA, he was a partner of Alexis Tsipras and it is also said that being an advisor in previous governments counts less for PASOK executives than in other cases.
And yes, they are doing their hearts in stone to avoid being accused of undermining the future of PASOK (i.e. Androulakis), but no one knows how long that will last when they see faces in front of them who have left Charilaou Trikoupis and have been cursing them from above.
The party’s committee of… demagogues is trying to round up all those who seem disgruntled. Kostas Laliotis, Kostas Skandalidis, Petros Lambrou are rounding up MPs and executives to keep the peace, although this is not certain to last until the end.
