A video on Instagram to showcase the government’s positive measures for workers was posted on Friday by Kyriakos Mitsotakis wishing “good First of May“.

In fact, on the occasion of Akylas‘s participation with Ferto in this year’s Eurovision, the prime minister begins the videowith the line “before we see if Akylas gets us, see what we have brought for the workers”.

In listing the measures for workers, Kyriakos Mitsotakis mentions:

  • the increase of the minimum wage from 650 euros in 2019 to 920 euros today the reduction of unemployment by 10 points, i.e. more than 550.000 new jobs
  • the zero tax for young workers under 25 years of age and a tax cut for all with a focus on families with children
  • the freeing up of the three-year tax after 12 full years which means an additional wage increase
  • the reintroduction of collective agreements
  • the reduction of social security contributions by 5,4 points
  • the extension of maternity allowance in the private sector from 6 to 9 months
  • and perhaps most importantly: the digital job card for nearly 2 million workers so that the hours you work are actually recorded.

“You certainly won’t say little. Because today you will hear many easy slogans of sensationalism but also many unworkable proposals we respond with our work,” Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis concludes.
