poll (h) 1. Unpleasant news “I honestly don’t know if Nick can take any more polls” 2. Proof of incompetence “I’m sorry but there’s no reason to do an interview since we have your polls for this position”
Failing to convince voters
The latest poll published, that of Marc, does not have very good news for the opposition in general and PASOK in particular. The 20-point gap confirms the inadequacy of those who claim they want and need to run the country but are unable to convince voters of their abilities. And apart from their obvious weaknesses that can be perceived at the drop of a hat (one only has to listen to them talk and “argue”), there is another, probably even greater one: the inability to grasp the reality of the citizens.
In the same poll and in the question about the issues costing the government, the issue of surveillance receives a staggering 1.3%. That is, according to citizens, the issue on which comrade Androulakis has declared his disapproval does not harm the government at all. Is it because it’s completely irrelevant? Is it because Androulakis lacks the ability to explain its significance? Whichever is the case, it’s very bad for someone who claims to aspire to bring “political change.”
Terrorism
I don’t think one needs to read the “manifesto” of front-runner Tsipras (i.e. the policy proposals that others have written for him) to discount the failure of his project. Just the phrase “ruling left” is enough to terrify citizens who remember the (not so distant) 2015-2019 period when the left finally ruled.
The Netherlands and Tom Cruise in “Top Gun”
I saw a video in which Comrade Karchimakis (son) brings up the example of the Netherlands’ four-day work week and I remembered when we were kids and thought that if we got Ray-glasses-Ban glasses and a leather “aviation” jacket we’d look like Tom Cruise in Top Gun.
Not Enough
The attacks on teachers by far-left assault battalions that continue unabated should finally somehow move the government, which insists on limiting itself to verbal condemnations, forgetting that, as the recent experience with Golden Dawn shows, no criminal organization has been scared off by them.
