The EMGF is a framework for cooperation among the Eastern Mediterranean countries to enhance the energy security of the region.

International developments and the next initiatives to further enhance energy security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean were discussed by the Minister of Environment and EnergyStavros Papastavrou with Osama Mombarez, Secretary General of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum.

As noted by Mr. Papastavrou, the EMGF is a framework for cooperation among the Eastern Mediterranean countries, with the aim of enhancing energy cooperation in the wider region.

Greece, by holding the Presidency of the Organization, confirms its key role in the formulation of a common regional strategy. It also includesCyprus, Egypt, Israel, Italy, Jordan, France, Italy, Jordan and Palestine.
