US President Donald Trump today launched a new attack on Pope Leo XIV, according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
“The Pope is endangering many Catholics and many people. He likes to refer to the fact that it is acceptable for Iran to have, Iran, nuclear weapons. I don’t think this is a good thing,” Trump told the Salem News television network, according to La Repubblica.
Recall that the day after tomorrow, Thursday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to visit the Vatican to meet with the Pontiff and the Prime Minister of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin – a trip which, according to many analysts, was planned in order to allow to bridge the rift recently created between the Washington administration and the Roman Catholic Church.
