Muscle in the PASOK with the resignation of Charis Castanidis as, in addition to the attack he launched against Androulakis, other issues are raised.
Harris Castanidis argued that the provision limiting the time of parliamentary service for party MPs is photographic and concerns him, while complaining that Nikos Androulakis, by excluding former party chairmen from it, has effectively excluded himself.
But the issue that has arisen is different. It is being circulated, for example, and not denied that Theodora Tzakri, a former minister and former MP for SYRIZA -where she found herself when she left PASOK- and current vice-president of Stefanos Kasselakis’ party has completed the term of office now stipulated by PASOK’s statutes.
And why does PASOK care? At this stage one could say that it does not care. But is that the case? It has been heard and written that Nikos Androulakis would like Theodora Tzakri in PASOK, as it has been proven over time that she has a following in Pella where she is elected after she has already managed to be elected with two different parties.
And while this is not a time to throw away… votes, the threshold that has been set also puts Theodora Tzakri off the list. It is already circulating that they are looking at Charilaou Trikoupis to see if they can overcome the hurdle without causing tensions and reactions. Difficult. Even if the rumours that the time limit on terms of office will apply to MPs elected with PASOK are true.
Logically it will be a come and see. Even Dimitris Reppas did react to the Castanides case and asked that arrangements be made for him to stand. With what has been said, this is difficult, but it seems that Reppas – a friend of mine in the bullpen – also sees what is coming and it will not work out well…
