We are ready “for any scenario”, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu said at the start of the security council meeting.
“We are in constant contact with our friends in the US. I talk with President Trump almost daily and I will talk with him again later,” Netanyahu said.
While stressing that there is “full coordination” of actions with Washington and that primary objectives remain the removal of enriched uranium stockpiles from Iran and the dismantling of Tehran’s ability to resume the enrichment process.
Israel’s prime minister announced that, in consultation with Defense Minister Israël Kats, he had ordered a strike in Beirut targeting a Hezbollah commander of Radwan with the aim of “neutralizing” him.
He said members of Radwan were responsible for attacks on Israeli communities and for strikes on IDF soldiers.
“No terrorist is immune, Israel’s long arm will reach every enemy and murderer,” he asserted, adding that Israel “promised security to the residents of the north and will continue to do so.”
