The first meeting of the Political Council of PASOK, after the internal party processes that preceded it, showed that the grumbling… continues.

One would have expected that the PASOK Political Council meeting would have a panegyric dimension not only because it was the first but also because of the belief expressed by its president Nikos Androulakis to win the next election – this one by a margin of one vote.

In fact, he even attempted to make appeals… morale and to give a… revolutionary atmosphere in order to create conditions of well-being, but in the end the phenomenon of grumbling was observed.

The occasion was the resignation of Charis Kastanidis, the reason why this was done, but mainly the issue of… enlargement of PASOK, which is probably not going so well in terms of the persons who returned, those who have returned and those who sound as regretful and willing to return to their… home.

A lot was heard, even the issue of “statements of regret” was raised, given that those who were reportedly ready to return when they had left had railed against PASOK in order to give credentials to the then Syriza of Alexis Tsipras. What will eventually happen is unknown, but the grumbling was there to show that the climate of introversion can return with intensity at any time.

Of course, the problem is not just the people coming and going. The cause is deeper and is due to the fact that Nikos Androulakis’ PASOK isn’t moving the needle. polls are clipping the wings of those who dream of governments and political change, since their party cannot, despite any attrition of the ruling party, reap significant benefits.

More importantly, it is unable to form a … cushion of poll numbers in order to have room for losses in case Alexis Tsipras creates a new party and voters move to his side.

What of course intensifies the grumbling, apart from the … few houses in the village, is that even the … commune leader is not pulling his weight.Nikos Androulakis, perpetually angry with the issue of the surveillance that is not going well for him, is not considered prime ministerial even by the party’s voters. His single-digit ratings are causing near panic at a time when he appears to be being passed by Alexis Tsipras before he becomes a party.
