Maria Antoniadou was elected a member of the IOA administration at the anniversary conference of the Federation held at Paris.

The Board of Directors of the Union announces that during the 32nd World Congress of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).O.D.), held in Paris and coinciding with its 100th anniversary, SIEA Board President Maria Antoniadou has been elected a member of the IOJ Executive Committee. The presence of the Union’s delegation in Paris, which included First Vice President George Gavalas and Special Secretary Mahi Nikolara, was dynamic and effective which was acknowledged by all the delegates and led to the very honourable election for Greece and ESIEA. The presence of the President of ESIEA, Themis Beredima, President of ESPET, was supportive of the candidacy of the President of ESIEA Maria Antoniadou, while the presence of the President of Posey Sotiris Triantafyllou was also important.

This is certainly a great success as there has been no representation of ESIEA in the Executive Committee for the last 22 years while at the same time it strengthens our voice in order to face the great challenges and dangers that lurk for journalism in Greece and around the world.

In recent years, ESIEA has developed a multifaceted international action, which has already been recognized, while at the same time the International Federation has been a constant supporter of our just demands and co-sponsor in the struggle to save EDOEP.
