Stratos Fanaras gave a brief analysis of the political scene as shaped by polls and spoke about the dominance of New Democracy.

Stratos Fanaras, head of the polling company Metron Analysis, explained on ERT that the New Democracy is currently in the region of 30%. At least as it appears from all the findings of the polls.

According to him, it is unprecedented for one party to have dominated for so many years. However, he attributed it partly to the weakness of the opposition and the fact that citizens cannot be inspired and trust a particular alternative pole.

Self-reliance is possible

The well-known pollster, analyzing the qualitative data of the polls, says that the self-reliance of the New Democracy is possible because it has not divorced from the social groups that voted for it in 2023. Instead, he stated that it is possible for the N.D.. may be in the 30% range, “however, self-reliance is possible because it still maintains tanks that are much larger than 30%”.

He also argued that Kyriakos Mitsotakis‘s superiority over the other political leaders also plays a major role in the percentages that New Democracy will receive in the next elections.

Finally, he made it clear that he does not see a political change, as he said “we have always had a two-party system where it always seemed that one pole of the opposition is pending a government and an alternative. This is not the case today. It doesn’t look like that.”

The analysis of Stratos Fanara is along the same lines as the analysis of Thomas Gerakis, head of Marc, who said that the dominance of New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis is not in doubt, while he spoke of a tough battle between three political forces, PASOK, Alexis Tsipras and Maria Karystianou, for second and third place in the elections.
