Adonis Georgiades and Aristides Hatzis, each from his own point of view, commented on the fact that the Greek Left as a whole, from PASOK to the New Left, met with Francesca Albanese.

Francesca Albanese is an Italian jurist and special rapporteur on the Palestinian positions at the UN. However, because her positions are often identified with Hamas, the US has sanctioned her and she has been accused at times of rhetoric that goes beyond protecting Palestinians and makes extreme and anti-Semitic statements.

In fact, the Italian is known for her contacts with controversial Islamic NGOs around the world. She has previously defended Hamas, stating that it is a legally elected political party and not a militant organisation.

A few days ago, she came to Greece to speak at a Leftist rally at the Panteion University. Previously he met with almost the entire left: from Giorgos Papandreou and Charis Doukas to Socrates Famellos, Gavriel Sakellaridis and Yanis Varoufakis.

This is what the well-known professor Aristides Hatzis saw and wrote in a post that the entire Greek Left welcomed a genuine anti-Semite and one of the worst. He criticised the politicians who rushed to meet with her and the academics who organised a whole event in her honour at a Greek university.

As he says, all this says a lot about the quality of the Greek Left and beyond. The professor’s opinion on the issue matters especially because he has occasionally criticized Israel and Netanyahu for many of their war operations, so he is not expressing unilateralism.

She expressed Turkey’s propaganda

However, the Italian jurist, invited by Leftist professors and politicians, did something worse: without any respect for her host country, she criticized Greece for its alliance with Israel and even used Turkey’s arguments.

Now whether this is a coincidence when he has so many contacts with Islamic organizations, let everyone be free to judge.

However, Adonis Georgiadis saw this and also commented that Albanese, which Yanis Varoufakis defended, used the Turkish narrative that Israel is exploiting Greece to establish its hegemony in the region. As the Health Minister wrote, “So that the masks fall off”.

However, here we see once again the love of the Greek Left for anything related to Islam that goes against the interests of Greece and the West.

However, the positions of Varoufakis or the New Left are well known.

But it seems that much of PASOK has now entered into the logic of defending such narratives.
