The significant progress Greece has made in the rule of law has been praised by European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice and the Rule of Law, Michael McGrath.

“You have made significant progress on the rule of law,” he said at a meeting with the prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the Maximos Mansion. He stressed that the reforms and rule of law environment in Greece helped the economy to grow and boosted the confidence of investors.

In detail, Michael McGrath told Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the Maximos Mansion: “I would like to highlight the excellent cooperation we have in the field of the rule of law, and the significant progress you have made in recent years. I believe that, without a doubt, the reforms that have been implemented and the rule of law environment here in Greece have helped you to develop and strengthen the economy, and I believe, without a doubt, that it is now increasingly recognised that certainty about the rule of law enhances investor confidence, creates an environment in which businesses invest, grow and create jobs.”
