A 22-year-old participant in the survival reality show “Survivor” is in serious condition after accident that occurred in Agios Dominios while he was fishing.
According to reports, the young man has suffered a partial amputation of his left leg and a serioustrauma on his right ankle.
For his part, Health Minister Adonis Georgiades, speaking to ANT1, said that the Greek authorities have already been informed about the incident. However, he noted, his immediate repatriation is not currently feasible due to his condition, adding that “we are ready to bring him at any time, as is the case with any Greek citizen“.
At the same time, in an official statement, television station Skai said it was informed of the serious accident that occurred during the reality survival show and expressed its deep regret and support for the player and his family.
As noted, although the program is produced entirely by an independent company production company, the station is closely monitoring the health of the participant and says it will assist in every way possible in the medical care and possible rehabilitation of the participant, if needed. Until the circumstances of the incident are fully clarified, it has also been decided to temporarily suspend the broadcast of this programme.

“Following our initial announcement regarding the serious accident that a Survivor player had in Santo Domingo and with a sense of responsibility towards public opinion and primarily towards the player himself, we consider it necessary to provide clarifications regarding the exact circumstances under which the incident occurred.
According to the evidence so far, the accident allegedly took place when a tourist boat injured the player, who was snorkeling outside the reality competition.
From the first moment there was immediate mobilization to provide assistance and safe transport of the injured man, while the relevant port authorities are investigating the cause of the incident in order to fully ascertain the circumstances.
The player remains in hospital in serious but stable condition and out of danger.
