Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis spoke to SKAI 100.3 about the delinquency in universities, on the occasion of the incidents that took place yesterday, Tuesday, at the University of Thessaloniki and the University of West Attica.
“Delinquency, especially at universities in Athens or Thessaloniki, either by non-university students or by some students, should be dealt with by the regular police, because the unarmed police cannot deal with them,” he said.
“When the safety of a citizen, teacher or student comes into the balance, then law enforcement should come first,” he added.
The government spokesman stressed the need to run prevention measures such as cameras and turnstiles faster,but also for the Ministry of Citizen Protection to continue to take police officers from guarding persons where there is no danger and take them to neighborhoods or some universities.
“A democrat is the one who wants to abolish the sanctuary of lawlessness and asks the police to arrest criminals,” he said.
About the naval drone spotted in Lefkada, the government spokesman said that “Greece will not allow the Mediterranean to become a theatre of warfare for any country, in particular Ukraine against Russia.” “Our stance in favour of the defender, Ukraine, which is also the European position, is firm, but it does not mean that we will make discounts on the minimum and obvious,” he said.
