The PASOK of Nikos Androulakis and the SYRIZA waiting for Alexis Tsipras are exporting their internal party misery to Europe.
The opposition’s attempt to involve the EU in the country’s internal affairs and export their misery is now visible, especially as far as the rule of law issues are concerned, in order to allow for a reprimand and even punishment of Greece.
PASOK MPs and MEPs have been in contact with the members of the Commission that prepares the Rule of Law and Justice report for EU member states and are trying to convince them that in Greece the government is breaking down the institutions.
At the end of January, PASOK MPs were in Brussels to… operate, it was officially announced, on evidence which they claim proves the problems for the rule of law and the Justice to the authors of the report.
PASOK did not stop there. Continued these efforts, even organising a speech on these issues, while MEPs raised an issue regarding Supreme Court prosecutor Konstantinos Tzavellas because of the decision-act he issued on the wiretapping case, which the leadership of Charilaou Trikoupis did not like.
Yesterday, Christos Rammos was at an event organised by SYRIZA MEP Kostas Arvanitis and spoke, what else, about the rule of law and its degradation, as he claims, in Greece. This is of course not the first time that a similar event has been held. After all, similar events in Brussels were attended many times in 2025 by Maria Karystianou, who is now preparing her own party.
The bottom line is that the opposition has been seeking a condemnation of Greece for many years, since the time when Alexis Tsipras was the leader of the opposition. And the more this is not done, the more the efforts intensify.
In fact, the EU Commissioner for the Rule of Law, Michael McGarth, who was in Greece on Tuesday and gave credit to the Greek government for the progress made on rule of law and justice issues, has been the focus of criticism from opposition figures and beyond.
