I wonder if someone who leads a political formation can imply implicitly but explicitly that if he comes to power, the children will stop being sprung from the sixth?
And yet, there have been people who attempted to use the Heliopolis tragedy as a political opportunity. There were voices that drew on “shock” to describe how “dark” things are in the country, while leaving the necessary political subtext.
And somewhere in there, every measure is lost.
For any human being who thinks coolly, regardless of ideology or party identity, it is inconceivable that such a deeply human tragedy should be turned into a tool for political exploitation. It is despicable. Value-poor. And most of all, dangerous. Because, in essence, some dare to suggest that if they were in power, such tragedies would not happen. As if suicides of children can be the subject of election promises.
At first, all this was only being heard from anonymous accounts on social media. From people hiding behind a photo and a pseudonym, who felt no need to be held accountable for anything. But eventually, the same logic passed into public discourse, albeit more covertly.
And what scares me isn’t those who utter it, ruthlessly and inhumanely, it’s those who share and applaud that inhumanity.
