Nikos Androulakis appears to be operating in a state of panic and anxiety about his political future, questioning polls.

Like Alexis Tsipras when he was the chairman of SYRIZA, Nikos Androulakis appears to be reacting to the logic that if reality doesn’t agree with him the worse for reality.

So, instead of formulating a strategy that shows he is getting the message that people are sending either by challenging his opposition tactics or through the glued needle, chooses to attack the… postman, i.e. the data and figures recorded by the polls.

Talking to Action 24 on Thursday night, he went so far as to argue that political games are being played through the polls, reminiscent of Alexis Tsipras at his best, when he was questioning the polls before the 2019 elections and even more so before those of 2023.

The truth is that lately PASOK executives on panels have been raising the issue of polls with barbs against polling companies. Now the party leader has intervened in the issue, indicating that it is not about personal opinions but a central strategy.

Nikos Androulakis’ intervention, however, came after the poll showing a party led by Alexis Tsipras in second place, although this has not been officially created although everyone knows that this will happen in the near future, possibly in June.

In PASOK the issue of polls is being discussed, and not in the way Nikos Androulakis would like, since there are executives who believe that the data recorded are not far from reality and that the attacks on polling companies show defeatism and weakness.

Especially now that Alexis Tsipras is expected to enter the game and the clash for second place will be relentless, this strategy probably leads nowhere and brings opposite results.
