The current political developments and the conference of the NDJD, was reported by the deputy prime minister Kostis Hatzidakis speaking to ERTnews and the show “Connections”.

As he said about the conference of the ND, the aim is to take an assessment of the course and the shaping of the perspective for the future, aiming for the Greece of 2030. Despite the inevitable fatigue of part of the electorate, ND remains well ahead of the second party and that shows something. We are the political force that Greece can realistically rest its hopes on, he said.

He noted that no one can say that he identifies with the soul of the party, especially if he has been to other committees, commenting on the letter from party officials criticizing the party.

He then stressed that he respects former prime ministers Antonis Samaras and Kosta Karamanlis and would prefer that they attend the congress, but their absence does not reverse the overall course of the country and the New Democracy.

At the same time, he said about the investigation proposed by PASOK on the wiretapping, that the justice is investigating the issue and there are convictions, there is no justice that we like and justice that we don’t like.

On the Covesi statements, he said that the judgments of the judiciary are respected and that the investigation will show where the matter is going.

As for four-day work, a proposal made by PASOK, he said that more flexible working arrangements have been introduced, subject to an employer-employee agreement, but PASOK’s proposal received negative comment from EVEA and GSEVEE, whose presidents are PASOK members.

Speaking about N. Androulakis and the recent controversy over the property in Heraklion, he stressed that the issue is political and citizens can draw conclusions.

Finally, Hatzidakis said that “what remains in the end is the work one leaves behind.”
