In April 2026, the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece handled a total of 1.8 million passengers in one month, an increase of 3.2% (an additional 56.000 passengers), compared to April 2025.
An additional 20,000 additional passengers compared to last year traveled in April 2026 via the airport “Macedonia”of Thessaloniki, with their number reaching 646,929 people, increased by 3.1%,according to data released today by Fraport Greece.
Of these, 207,626 travelled on domestic flights (+2.7%) and 439,303 on international flights (3.4%),with Germany (140,094 people), Italy (38,849), Cyprus (37,950) and the United Kingdom (31,173) being the main markets.
However, the biggest growth was noted as that of Poland (25,842), while in addition to the key countries from which traffic originated – which also grew, with Italy first and Germany and the UK following – arrivals/departures to and from Turkey (17,794 passengers) were also positive.
Over all, in the four months January-April, nearly 2.1 million passengers (+4.5%, year-on-year) were carried on 16,055 aircraft, of which 1.29 million were on international flights and 796,679 on domestic flights.

Domestic passenger traffic in the same month (at the 14 airports) amounted to 640,000 passengers, an increase of 4.9% compared to April 2025.
And international passenger traffic reached 1.2 million passengers, an increase of 2.3% compared to April 2025. Since 2017, the year the 14 regional airports were granted, Fraport Greece has welcomed more than 256 million passengers.
