Scenes of intense unrest unfolded outside the courts immediately after the announcement of the decision to remand six defendants in the Kato Titorea robbery case, when the presence of gathered supporters and the tension of the moment led to incidents with police. The situation quickly got out of control, with shouting, chants and clashes in the courtyard, while security forces proceeded to use chemicals and firecrackers to restore order. At the same time, the transfer of the remand prisoners to the GADA took place in a tense atmosphere, with a strong police presence and reactions from the gathered crowd.

Riot between police officers and young people who had gathered to support those arrested for the robbery in Lower Titorea broke out when it was announced that six accused were remanded in custody, while two others were released on probation.

The timeline

A pandemonium ensued in the courtyard of the courts as police officers led the remand prisoners to the cages to take them to the GADA. A group of protesters erupted in shouts and chants, a manhunt ensued, and chemical and flash bombs were used.

Earlier, the pleas of the eight arrested men were completed. According to reports, the accused said they belonged to the anarchist movement.

With regard to the 11 robberies attributed to them, some of them reportedly reserved their explanations as the interrogation progressed. Three of them claim they did not use force and resistance.
