The eight thematic sections of the conference

The day’s programme is developed through eight parallel thematic sections, in which ministers, MPs and executives of New Democracy participate.

The themes are:

• “Welfare state for all: new perspectives and opportunities”
• “Strong Greece”
• “Strong economy – Strong Greece”
• “2030: Greece strong, New Democracy ahead”
• “Greece, a destination for all – Major projects and infrastructure”
• “Modern state for all”
• “Secure Greece”
• “With the young people we are building the Greece of the future”

Through the specific sections, the government seeks to present its priorities for the next four years, with an emphasis on growth, investment, strengthening defence, supporting young people and improving public services.

The speeches that are attracting interest

The morning programme includes interventions by top government officials and party leaders.

Among those expected to be placed are Kostis Hatzidakis and Adonis Georgiades, while the interventions of international guests are of particular interest.

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will participate in the conference, as well as the President of the European People’s Party, Manfred Weber.

The presence of the two political figures is considered particularly important, as it reinforces the European and international footprint of the event.

The procedures for the new Political Committee

Alongside the political positions, the organisational procedures for the conference are also underway.

According to the Central Election Committee (CEC), the submission of nominations for the new Political Committee of New Democracy will take place from 14:00 to 16:00.

The procedure is part of tomorrow’s voting, which will officially conclude the proceedings of the 16th Congress of the party.
