Thanasis Glavinas revealed PASOK’s strategy for constitutional revision and beyond.
Specifically, Thanasis Glavinas of ERT, speaking on the constitutional revision, claimed that PASOK will participate in the debate and will also make specific proposals.
And then journalists asked him a very simple question: What will PASOK do in cases where New Democracy adopts the proposals of Charilaou Trikoupis as they stand.
And the answer left them speechless: the PASOK executive said that his party will vote against even the… New Democracy on the changes to the Constitution.
In short, PASOK will not give any consensus at all before the elections, even if the government adopts its own proposals! This is a new level of nihilism and “no to everything”, a strategy that only Nikos Androulakis could think of.
In fact, Thanasis Glavinas tried to justify the unjustifiable, saying that because PASOK disagrees with the way the Constitution provides for the revision, it will see if it will give consensus after the elections. So live my May to eat clover.
Because who is telling PASOK that, for example, they will have a sufficient number of MPs to give consensus even on their own proposals after the election? Or that after the elections the PASOK leadership team will remain the same and that someone else won’t come along with a different opinion on the Constitution?
And because a lot of words are poverty, it is obvious that PASOK doesn’t want to agree on anything lest it be seen to be aligned with the government somewhere. That is for purely micro-political reasons.
The rhyme was as follows:
Thanasis Glavinas: Our position is that the way the Constitution is revised must be changed. So that in the second parliament we have that famous 180. As you know now you need 180 MPs either in the proposing or in the revising parliament. Our view is that this should only happen in the second, the revising House, and on the basis of this position we have said that we will not vote for any position to get 180 votes in this House, the proposing House, and that any consensus needed will be seen in the next House. Where we will cast our vote for the 180 there. So we will propose many of our own positions in a specific list that we believe are appropriate.
Reporter: So if New Democracy adopts one of your positions as it is, will you still vote against it?
Thanasis Glavinas: Obviously.
