The deputy minister of rural development has sent a resounding message of unity to the party’s inner circle, calling for personal bitterness to be put aside.
The critical importance of political stability and internal party cohesion was mentioned by Athanasios Kavvadas at the 16th Conference of New Democracy, giving the stigma of the party’s priorities.
The deputy minister of rural development stressed meaningfully that “elections are held to govern the country and not to get into adventures“, adding that governing the country is a particularly serious matter that requires deep knowledge and experience.
Mr Kavvadas also made a clear recommendation to avoid introversion, stressing that “personal bitterness should not injure the party“.
He also reminded that the core of the party is not limited to government officials but extends to thousands of ordinary citizens. “The party is not only the government the MPs and the party cadres. The party is thousands of citizens who support it. All of them demand unity from us. They demand that we correct mistakes, become more effective, speak to the heart of the people,” he concluded
