Noting that the policies of the Mitsotakis government for citizens are leading to a new social coalition, Akis Skertsos listed 22 interventions by matching them to the number of citizens benefiting.
In a message on social media, Minister of State, Akis Skertos said: “The 22 policies that follow are not just numbers“. “They are real people next door. They are living examples of the results that the reforms of the last 7 years bring to the life of every Greek woman and every Greek man,” he stressed.
“What cannot be measured cannot be evaluated,” Akis Skertsos pointed out. “And at the same time, what is measured cannot be flattened by the opposition of wishful thinking and populist ambiguity,” the State Minister noted. “This is why we say yes to measurement and evaluation that make life better for people, especially the most vulnerable,” Akis Skertos said.
He concluded his message by saying: “These policies are the soul of the New Democracy and show the way for a new social alliance that wants the country’s steady progress on new strong and healthy foundations. This is the new social contract we want to sign in the next elections with all citizens“.
Below is the post by State Minister Akis Skertzos
There is an old political cliché that says “people are not numbers”. And it is correct. But there are, however, some numbers that are identified with people.
The 22 policies that follow are not just numbers. They are real people next door. Living examples of the results that the reforms of the last 7 years bring to the lives of every Greek woman and every Greek man.
🛜 8.9 million unique users of gov.gr utilize more than 2,200 digital services every day and carried out over 2.7 billion transactions with the state in 2025.
🏥 7 million preventive examinations were carried out through the “Prevent” program. And 200,000 of our fellow citizens detected serious findings in time and are already receiving treatment.
👩⚕️5,2 million citizens have registered with the free personal doctor.
👨🏫 2 million employees are now protected by the digital work card and 7.8 million overtime hours were paid.
🚨1.8 million alcohol checks helped improve road safety.
🩺 1.2 million insured people now use the electronic patient record.
🏠 1 million tenants received rent rebates as practical support against housing costs.
👴🏼 1 million pensioners received their pension in less than two months instead of two years.
👷♂️ 563,000 formerly unemployed people found jobs.

What cannot be measured cannot be evaluated.
And at the same time, what is measured cannot be flattened by the opposition of wishful thinking and populist vagueness.
So we say yes to measurement and evaluation that make life better for people, especially the most vulnerable.
These policies are the soul of the New Democracy and show the way for a new social coalition that wants the country to make steady progress on new strong and healthy foundations. This is the new social contract that we want to sign in the next elections with all citizens.
