Kostas Gavroglou went too far in expressing adoration for Alexis Tsipras.

Kostas Gavroglou, a former education minister in the Syriza government, is now one of the most important members of Alexis Tsipras’s team for the creation of the new party. Therefore, what he says about the former prime minister carries particular weight.

The former minister was asked in an interview something very simple by journalist Akis Pavlopoulos: why Alexis Tsipras will be better now that he is back, when he ruled with not so good results and does not seem to have changed much. An obvious and logical question.

However, Kostas Gavroglou’s answer cannot be described with the word logical alone. And it shows exactly how Alexis Tsipras is seen by the people around him: as the Messiah of the Left with what this may mean for their political crisis.

So Kosta Gavroglou left Aki Pavlopoulos speechless, as he compared the return of Alexis Tsipras to the return of Konstantinos Karamanlis after the dictatorship. Admittedly, this argument is not subject to logical criticism.

As the former minister responded, justifying Alexis Tsipras’ return with a new party, “Why was Constantine Karamanlis another Karamanlis after the dictatorship? Tell me.”

In fact, when the journalist asked him how he could compare Alexis Tsipras with Constantine Karamanlis, he replied that history would be the judge.

In short, not only did he compare Alexis Tsipras with Constantine Karamanlis but he did not answer anything of substance: we did not learn why the former prime minister would now be a better governor but we heard an off-the-wall answer.

Of course, with these executives next to Alexis Tsipras, no other answer is needed. Clearly he will be the same and unchanging.
