Alexis Tsipras’ recent youth rally at Monastiraki may have had a disappointing turnout, but the former prime minister is not deterred and addressed some people, asking for predictions on the name of the party he will found.
The poll, just before May 26, the day on which he will unveil his new political entity, was posted by him on social media.
Among the proposals heard are “Ithaca,” “Hope Again,” “New Path,” “New Progressive Left,” and the… “Laura”.
For her part, YouTuber, Zoe Pre, who recently participated as a presenter at a youth event at which the former prime minister spoke, called on Alexis Tsipras to name his new party…“Zoe”.
The name, however, that is repeated the most in the video is “Pyxisida”.
The truth is that it is hard for the former prime minister to hide the fact that the “compass” of his political career and action has been his personal ambitions and not a vision of a better life for the people, who probably suffered under his watch. In this context, the reality, and not the embellishment of Alexis Tsipras’ new effort, might suggest other, more plausible names, such as “Go back”, “Doulia”, “Scissors”, not to forget his references to Merkel, the markets and the memoranda that he did not, after all, kick out, dance on, or tear up.
