The 2nd Kifissia High School – Lyreio Didactirio was visited by the Bookmarkers on Friday, May 15, in an action that marked the organization’s first school initiative to support public reading.
The newly formed Association is an initiative of Gregory Dimitriadis and aims to promote books as a foundation for intellectual development. Through its actions, it seeks to highlight the power of words as a basis for the cultivation of criticism, creativity and imagination, in an age dominated by digital information.
During the visit, the President of the Scientific Committee, Mr. Nikos Koukis, together with the Director of the Lyrion Didactory, Mrs. Gina Stasinopoulou, talked with the students of the school, in the presence of teachers from the Teachers’ Association.
The Bookmarkers donated literary books, as well as a library, just before the end of the school year. This is a highly active and creative school, where students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities in Greece and abroad, enriching their knowledge, social formation and behaviour.
