The Final Four is now underway in Attica and all is set for the start of the top European basketball event, hosted this year in the Greek capital with the support of the Attica Region

The Pavilion of the Region officially opens its gates today at 19:00, in the Fun Zone of the Euroleague Final Four Athens 2026 at Zappeion, inviting thousands of visitors from Greece and abroad to live a unique experience, through free activities dedicated to basketball, participation and authentic fair play.

The Region’s pavilion, with a total surface area of 36 sq.m, hopes to be a benchmark for young and old alike. Hosted in one of the most central and prominent spots of the Fun Zone, it stands out as one of the most modern and innovative presentations of the event.

The space is transformed into a interactive basketball court of high technology, where young and old will have the opportunity to compete with a friend in a special shooting game, competing for the best performance at the baskets.

The interactive character of the pavilion is also highlighted by its special configuration: One wall consists entirely of an LED screen through which participants can choose the court on which they wish to compete, while the floor is a specially designed glass floor LED, similar to that of the Telekom Center Athens.

The winners of the action will be offered souvenir gifts with the logo of the Region of Attica.

The official opening of the pavilion will take place simultaneously with the “3on3 Hoop District” action organized by Euroleague, essentially marking the opening of the Fun Zone at Zappeion.

The opening hours are as follows:

– Thursday 21/5 – 19:00-23:00

– Friday 22/5 – 10:00-23:00

– Saturday 23/5 – 10:00-23:00

– Sunday 24/5 – 10:00-23:00

Entrance to the public is free.

At the same time, the presence of the Region of Attica will be strong inside the stadium throughout the event. Special videos, tailored to the needs of the Final Four, will be shown on the LED screens around the perimeter of the pitch and in the upper mezzanine of the stadium, while a short video about Metropolitan Attica will be shown on the central video cube of the Telekom Center Athens during time-outs and halftime, conveying to millions of fans around the world the modern, extroverted image of the country’s capital region.

The Fun Zone event at Zappeion places particular emphasis on inclusion, equal participation and respect, highlighting basketball as a field of equal participation, without exclusion and discrimination, a message that the Region of Attica actively supports through its overall presence at the event.

In a statement, the Attica Regional Governor, Nikos Hardalias, noted: “Attica welcomes these days the heart of European basketball. The Euroleague Final Four Athens 2026 is much more than just a top sporting event. It is a great feast of extroversion, participation, culture and modern experience for our entire Metropolitan Region.

From the very first moment of the Final Four bid until today, we have supported this great event with all our strengths, because we deeply believe in the potential that sport has to unite people, send positive social messages and promote Attica to the whole world in the most modern and dynamic way.

At the Zappeion we have created a space that is open, interactive and fully accessible for everyone, for young and old, for fans, families and visitors from every corner of Europe. A space that captures the spirit of the event: the joy of participation, fair play, inclusion and the power of sport to bring people together.

We want everyone who comes to Attica during these days to have an experience worthy of the top European basketball celebration. And we are ready to achieve it.”
