New administrative fines totalling €576,128 have been imposed by the Independent Authority Control of Market and Protection of Consumer, as part of the intensive controls to address unfair market profiteering phenomena.

In particular, according to a statement, the company JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS, which operates in the coffee category, was fined 248,061 euros for exceeding the allowed gross profit margin in 20 product codes.

At the same time, the company PEPSICO HELLAS M.A.V.E. was fined 328,067 euros for exceeding the allowed gross profit margin in 12 product codes in the categories of cereals, chocolate and juices.

According to the Authority’s announcement, the infringements concern the period from 13 March to 3 April 2026 and consist of exceeding the allowed profit margin in breach of the applicable legislation.

The Authority notes that the examination of other files is continuing at an intensive pace, while new decisions are expected in the near future. At the same time, it stresses that it will continue its systematic market controls, intervening where practices that violate the legislation and affect the interests of consumers are identified.
