The absolute innocence of Fotini Arabatzi was pleaded during her speech in Parliament.
The former deputy minister Rural Development and Food almost throughout her speech with a shaky voice, indicative of emotional charge, she recounted the chronicle of the case in which – as she said – in 26 months in office her name was involved in a conversation in a case in which the public had zero harm.
“I was confident of my innocence from the very first moment and that is why I put myself at the disposal of the House and the inquiry, because I have nothing to fear. The decision of the majority to reject the motion, as there is no indication of even a shade of evidence, fully vindicates me and leaves no shadow over my name. I align myself with this position considering that constitutional institutions are neither instrumentalized nor trivialized for the sake of partisan expediency.
Today the House gives me the floor to speak for myself for the first time. My picture and my name have been involved in many media outlets since November 2, 2025. What could I do without an indictment and without an accusation? For five months I’ve been crossing myself, not about the dossier, but about whatever anyone’s mind puts their mind to. I was interrogated without any respect for my individual rights and democracy.
I am accused in the 12 CD dossier there is only one conversation in my 26 months in office. I am accused of harming the public for zero money,” said Fotini Arabatzi.
