The Greek citizens have returned to Athens via Istanbul, after the adventure of their arrest and detention by Israeli forces.
The repatriation operation of the 19 Greek activists who participated in the international humanitarian “Global Sumud Flotilla” bound for Gaza has been successfully completed.
The Greek citizens landed at the airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” of Athens at 9:00 p.m. on a commercial flight, with the continued assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul.
Immediately after their arrival in Athens, the health authorities were mobilized and those repatriates deemed to be in need were taken to a hospital for first aid and medical examinations.
