Nikolas Farantouris, who is now a member of PASOK, in a question to the E.U. is essentially protesting against the European Commissioner who said positive things about the rule of law in Greece.
As unlikely as it sounds, it’s true. The MEP who is supposedly defending Greece’s interests asked an entire question to the European Commission about the fact that the EU Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, Rule of Law and Consumer Protection, Michael McGrath, said that our country has made significant progress on the issues under his responsibility.
As the European Commission’s report on the rule of law in Greece also confirms. But because this does not serve their furious narrative against the government, they decided to take on the Commissioner for the positive things he said about Greece!
The opposition of Nikos Androulakis has reached such a point. And of course these practices are no different from the actions of the Syriazas MEPs, who every three months make interventions against our country in the European Parliament.
However, in the European Union they are not concerned with political narratives, fake news and conspiracy theories, but with the real facts: the legislative and institutional interventions of the government to strengthen the rule of law, with specific measures and objectives. The European Commission’s report, after all, documents Greece’s progress and problematic points with specific arguments.
And that is why PASOK is so annoyed, because it cannot oppose the real data. So he said to take on the EU commissioner who all that remains to be said is that he too is a stooge of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
And of course the Farantouris question included the wiretapping, the favourite Androulakis topic and whether the Commissioner’s report includes what the Leftist leadership of the Bar Association and various “civil society bodies”, see politically driven organisations, are saying. Essentially asking the EU not to positively evaluate Greece again and especially not to dare European officials to dare to say positive things about our country.
And above.
