Congratulations to the Democratic Rally (DISY) and its president, Anita Demetriou, were sent by Kyriakos Mitsotakis after the victory in the elections of Cyprus.

The prime minister said in a post that Cypriots have chosen stability and wished the members of the new House of Representatives good luck.

“Congratulations to DISY and Anita Demetriou on the election victory. The faction of Gl. Clerides remains clearly the leading force in Cyprus. Cypriots chose stability. I wish good luck to the members of the new House of Representatives. Greece stands firmly by your side,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in his post.

In her remarks outside the Democratic Rally building in Nicosia, flanked by party officials, Ms. Demetriou noted that it was an election battle “in an unprecedentedly toxic environment and citizens chose security and stability.”

“I want to say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart for responding to our call, for trusting us again as the first political force in the country with the most seats in the House of Representatives. For us, this means only responsibility,” Demetriou said.

She said they are satisfied with the positive result. “From tomorrow we continue with hard work. We continue to be close to the people. We continue to listen to your anxieties and your concerns,” she added.

She noted that the mandate that DISY has received “is to lead in the new Parliament with consensus, with reforms and policies that bring results for development and social protection”. “Because our common mission is only to take our country forward, responsibly forward,” he continued.
