According to his official statement, he thanked the President of the Parliamentary Group of the New Democracy Party and Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for the confidence he has shown in him, assuring that he will respond with all his strength to the demands of the new position of responsibility.
“I thank the President of the parliamentary group of the Southwestern Democratic Party and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for appointing me to the important position of the parliamentary representative of the Southwestern Party in the Parliament. I am particularly honoured by the appointment. I will do my best to meet the requirements of the position,” Simopoulos wrote, according to the relevant press release.
