Becoming a “Life Saver”sounds like a daunting task.
But in reality, it can start with a simple stop in downtown Piraeus.

On Tuesday, June 16, at the Municipal Theatre Piraeus Square, AllwynCare. From 09:00 to 19:00, in a relaxed, summer setting, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a voluntary blood donation and register as a volunteer bone marrow donor.
The process is simpler than most people imagine:a few minutes are all it takes to become either a volunteer blood donor, or a new bone marrow donor, a move of great value as only 65% of blood needs are met in Greece, and one in three patients cannot find a compatible marrow donor.
Registering as a volunteer bone marrow donor is now a very simple process, a saliva sample is all that is needed, while donation, when needed, is in most cases done in a similar way to blood donation, without surgery. With just a few minutes of your time, you can give someone a second chance at life.
