With the transfer of the “driver’s license”, the Prime Minister questioned the momentum of the new political initiative of Alexis Tsipras.
In Alexis Tsipras’s new political venture and his effort to return to the center of developments through the “ELAS– Greek Left Alliance” was mentioned by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, launching barbs at his political comeback. During his interview on ANT1’s “Enopios Enopio” program, the prime minister argued that the founding of a new party does not negate the verdict of the citizens in the elections of recent years, even using the analogy of a driver’s license to emphasize that, despite the change in political party, the political figure remains the same.
Following Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s pointed statement, the political confrontation over the future of the center-left and the formation of Alexis Tsipras’s new party is becoming even more intense, as the discussion shifts from intentions to the substance of the political assessment of the former prime minister by the electorate and to whether a new party identity can alter the dynamics that have already been established at the polls.
The comment about Alexis Tsipras
It was certainly discussed, but, as I said, the EAM left it to Mr. Polakis.
But beyond that, a word about what you’re saying: if your license is revoked three times, can you drive another car? The answer is no. Mr. Tsipras had his “license revoked” three times by Greek citizens, and now he’s forming a new party; he wants to drive a new car, but he’s still the same Mr. Tsipras. Isn’t that right?
