Instead of proposing solutions, they deal with 20-year-old cases
Possibly (and thanks to Donald Trump) we are at the beginning of a huge global crisis whose epicenter is not too far from our country.
At the same time, we as a country have perennial (and intergovernmental) problems that are entirely our own. And the opposition, instead of dealing with all of the above, instead of proposing solutions or ways defence that are relevant to reality, instead of making meaningful and convincing criticism, seems to be spending all its energies on 20-year old assumptions.
I acknowledge that this is much easier than serious proposals and meaningful criticism, but it is bound to keep the opposition’s ratings well away from those of the government.
Of course, if the opposition were allowed to make serious proposals and substantive criticism, they wouldn’t be so far behind in the polls. It seems that people don’t bother with the small stuff by choice, they bother with the small stuff because they don’t make it to the big stuff.
They don’t get it
I see that New Left in a statement on Hungarian elections says that “the fall of Orbán is not enough” and that “what is still needed is a left-wing and progressive alternative”. Probably the comrades didn’t get it, but Hungarians also voted against Russian influence.

The President of the United States has quite rightly stated that he will not allow Iran to bully the planet. That is the job of the US government and its friends in Russia.
