The center of culture and musical expression is transforming into an open space in Athens, through the new partnership of the Region of Attica and the Onassis Foundation.

With free admission and more than 60 DJs, producers, and musicians, the “STEGI.RADIO: Live From The Park” opens its gates today at Pedion tou Areos, the largest green space in the center of Athens, through a collaboration between the Region of Attica and the Onassis Foundation’s STEGI.

Every evening, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Pedion tou Areos hosts unexpected musical encounters, voices, and sounds from different scenes, featuring dozens of DJs and music producers from Greece and abroad.

“One year after the successful visual arts exhibition ‘Plásmata 3,’ our collaboration with the Onassis Foundation’s Stegi—this time for a premier music festival—transforms Pedion tou Areos, the largest metropolitan park in the city center, into a vibrant hub of culture for all residents and visitors to Attica,” stated Mr. Chardalias.

And he added: “Culture is part of Attica’s identity. And that is precisely our philosophy: culture should reach everywhere, with free access for all. Pedion tou Areos can now host major cultural events in a vibrant, safe, and welcoming space for citizens. That was our goal from the very beginning: to bring culture closer to the daily lives of our fellow citizens, with open and free events in every neighborhood of Attica. At the same time, one of our administration’s top priorities was the substantial renovation of the park. Two and a half years later, nearly halfway through our term, seeing people return to Pedion tou Areos and experience it daily through cultural and community-oriented activities, we feel that this effort is taking on real meaning.”

Against the backdrop of summer in Athens, festival visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy unique musical experiences and unexpected “fusions” from different music scenes and soundscapes. From electronic music and house to jazz, soul, and the sounds of the UK club scene, “STEGI.RADIO: Live From The Park” brings diverse musical genres and artists from around the world to Pedion tou Areos.

The festival’s events will be broadcast live both on Stegi’s online radio and on Kiosk Radio in Brussels and The Lot Radio in New York, bringing the music and atmosphere of Athens to listeners around the world.
