Optimistic Trump on agreement with Iran, with references to the naval blockade and ceasefire Israel-Lebanon.
He is optimistic about the progress of negotiationswith Iran, US President Donald Trump appeared in remarks outside the White House, saying that the prospects for an agreement are very positive.
He said Tehran has agreed not to acquire nuclear weapons, and noted that the agreement under negotiation “spans more than 20 years.” At the same time, he left open the possibility of another meeting with the Iranian delegation over the weekend.
The US president praised the naval blockade of Iranian ports, calling it “impressive“, arguing that it has significantly hurt the country’s economic activity.
“We are doing very well on this issue […] The blockade is impressive. It remains strong, with great efficiency. And I think we are making significant progress,” he said, adding: “They can’t do any transactions because of the blockade.”
According to him, this pressure has led to a serious weakening of Iran’s capabilities, and he warned that “no ship will pass through our navy.”
Referring to the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which he announced earlier, noting that this includes Hezbollah.
Also, he disclosed that he scheduled meetings with both the Prime Minister of Israel and the President of Lebanon, without giving a specific timeline.
