Welcoming the achievement of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was expressed by the Prime Minister of Italy Georgia Meloni, calling the development “excellent news“.
He noted, “I congratulate the governments in Israel and Lebanon for achieving this important outcome, thanks to US mediation,” highlighting the role of diplomacy in de-escalating tensions.
She stressed the importance of respecting the agreement, noting: “Now it is essential that the ceasefire be fully respected.”
Referring to Hezbollah, she stressed that “it must stop all hostilities against Israel and respect the decisions of the Lebanese government.”
He concluded by expressing the hope that the ceasefire would be the basis for a full and lasting peace
