The center of Athens is filled today (6/13) with colors, music, and slogans, as Athens Pride 2026 reaches its climax with the traditional Pride Parade and a series of events at Syntagma.
These events begin at 12:00 noon and will continue late into the night with discussions, performances, DJ sets, and concerts. The march will begin at 7:00 PM, followed immediately by a major music program featuring well-known artists and figures from the queer scene.
The organizers are sending a clear message about the rights and visibility of LGBTQI+ individuals, at a time when—as they point out—trans, non-binary, and intersex people continue to face exclusion and social discrimination.
“Our rights are non-negotiable” is the main slogan of this year’s event.
Athens Pride: Activities and events starting at noon
Starting early in the morning, organization booths will be open in Syntagma Square, while the music will be provided by DJs Tseali and Siria.
The program includes interactive activities such as “Take-Give,” where participants will exchange messages of support and love via Post-it notes, as well as “Smash the Stereotypes,” aimed at breaking down stereotypes and prejudices.
For parents and children, there will be the activity “Yoga with a Twist” with Penny Limnaou and Chara Karipidou, and there will also be a specially designed rainbow photo area.
At 4:00 p.m. the afternoon events will begin, featuring a program by “Yoga and Sport for Refugees” and an open discussion by the initiative “Jail the Murderers of Zaki-O” on the topic “Let’s Build a Society of Liberation.”
At the same time, until 9:00 PM a special meet-and-greet space will be open for people attending Pride alone, with the aim of helping them make new connections and find friends.
Shortly before the march begins, at 6:00 PM, the 25-member brass band Agia Fanfara will perform at Syntagma Square.
The Pride Parade and the big concert
The program will begin at 5:00 PM with instructors from Zumba Greece, followed by greetings from LGBTQI+ community organizations and a live performance by Konikos.
Stand-up comedian Aris Psiliakos will host the afternoon program.
The pre-gathering of groups and organizations will take place at 6:00 p.m. in front of the Parliament , and one hour later the Pride Parade will officially begin, with the unfurling of a 30-meter-long rainbow flag.
Collectives, organizations, and floats will participate in the march, while Batala, Kilombo, and Dansawe will set the beat.
Those who remain in Syntagma Square during the march will enjoy DJ sets by Ate and Salin until the participants return.
The evening event will be hosted by Andromeda Bolos and Christina Voulgari.
Performing on the Athens Pride 2026 stage will be Black Unit, Dimitris Samolis, Mitch T, Nasty Hiloudaki, Chryseida Gagouti, Fotis Lamaris, and Matoula Zamani.
The program will include live music, performances, and a surprise guest appearance to be announced during the evening.
