The Crime Investigation and Prosecution Division of Vari, Voula, and Vouliagmeni dismantled a gang that was stealing tools, electrical equipment, and construction materials from construction sites and buildings under construction in areas of the northern and southern suburbs of Attica.

As part of a police operation carried out on June 7, two foreign nationals, aged 43 and 51, were arrested, while the case file also includes one additional individual who has been identified. The defendants face, as applicable, charges of forming a criminal organization and aggravated theft committed repeatedly and in concert.

According to the police investigation, the members of the group had been active since at least November 2025, each playing distinct roles. The defendants identified construction sites or buildings, breached security systems and stole professional tools, electrical equipment, construction materials, and household appliances. One of the members is alleged to have taken on the role of surveilling the area in order to alert his accomplices in the event of a police presence.

During searches of the suspects’ homes, clothing used during the thefts was seized, along with a large quantity of stolen goods, while the vehicle they used to carry out the crimes was also seized.

So far, 13 theft cases have been solved in Vari, Voula, Vouliagmeni, Glyfada, Palaio Faliro, Filothei, and Marousi. The arrested individuals were brought before the competent prosecuting authority.
