On the dates of the announcement of the final of the Panhellenic the Minister of Education, Sofia Zacharaki, made a statement.

Speaking to SKAI on Monday morning (06/15), she noted that scores will be announced between June 26 and 29, and the results at the end of July.

“Vocational high schools were holding their final classes in preparation for the exams, and starting tomorrow we’ll begin with English specialized courses, until the end of the month, so we expect the announcement of the <a href="https://tomanifesto.gr/students , with the final results coming at the end of July. So families can find out earlier, because as a country we have managed in recent years to release the results earlier, so that families can make their family plans,” said Ms. Zacharaki regarding the completion of exams at Vocational High Schools (EPAL).

The minister also referred to the ongoing discussion regarding an alternative to the national university entrance exam system.

Regarding Alexis Tsipras’s proposal to abolish the Panhellenic Exams, she commented that “during the period of SYRIZA’s governance, nothing was done to abolish them. So either he didn’t mean it back then, or he didn’t manage to do it, or he certainly needs to explain to us now what he would propose instead.”

“I have stated my position publicly; I believe that, once we find an equally reliable system and mechanism, we must indeed move toward an alternative method of university admission, but that means that right now—and I must tell you that since February—over 100 people have been working in special task forces to propose the national high school diploma to us.”
