Nikos Androulakis is seeking the so-called negative vote, only now there are more people competing for the same voters.
The president of PASOK continues to act as the leader of a protest party, even though so far the polls show that this tactic is not resonating, especially following the (re)emergence of Alexis Tsipras on the central political stage. After all, the (new) president of the (new)SYRIZA is the best spokesperson for this political space and possesses the relevant know-how.
It is telling that Nikos Androulakis visited a farmers’ market in Ano Liossia as part of the tours he launched in Attica and invited Kyriakos Mitsotakis to go there to witness the… anger of the citizens, wanting to convey his own anger to the public, although so far this has not worked out for him.
On the contrary: in yet another poll, he is in third place, trailing behind Alexis Tsipras, and that is the reason for his tours in Attica where, according to the data, he has particularly low penetration among voters. Even worse, PASOK has begun to fluctuate between double-digit and single-digit percentages causing the needle to move downwardwith all that this implies for the morale of both party officials and voters.
Reports indicate that independent MPs and officials who have distanced themselves from their former parties are having second thoughts about the invitation they have received to rejoin or become activein PASOK led by Nikos Androulakis, and this is perhaps one of the reasons why the expansion is experiencing a… delay.
In any case, at Harilaou Trikoupi concern is intense and growing ever more so, as party officials do not see the party leader and leadership team having heeded the people’s messages so as –even at the last minute– to turn the ship around before it crashes into the rocks.
