The female police officer who was stabbed by her husband, also a police officer, inside their home in Drama.
According to reports, the shocking family tragedy came to light when the couple’s child reportedly called the authorities, stating that his mother was injured. An EKAV ambulance rushed to the scene, which picked up the woman alive and rushed her to the hospital where she died shortly thereafter. According to initial reports, the woman sustained stab wounds, one to the chest, one to the back, and one to the face.
The perpetrator, a man in his 50s who also served in the police force, after stabbed his wife, fled in his vehicle.
A short time later, the police received a call from a citizen who spotted the vehicle elsewhere in the area, specifically in Korilovo, Drama, and reportedly stated that the driver had been shot. The man was found dead inside his car, as he reportedly committed suicide using his service weapon.
According to reports, the couplewas separated and, under circumstances that remain unclear, it appears there was an argumentinside their home, when the man apparently grabbed a knife and stabbed his wife several times before fleeing.
The couple has two children, and the local community remains in shock.

The police are mourning this family tragedy, as two of its members, as well as two police officers and the spokesperson for the Hellenic Police, Konstantia Dimoglou, speaking to MEGA, stated that there appear to have been past complaints of abusive behavior, but the couple had perhaps begun the process of ending their relationship.
“This couple had never been a concern for the police, and the point is that they have never been a concern for the agency either. Two people who, as described to us by their agencies, had never given cause for concern, were fully functional in their roles, and had never caused any issues. From the examination of witnesses—including close family members—that took place until late last night, there is no indication that there was tension or systematic abuse. Perhaps the couple had begun the process of ending their relationship, their marriage. However, one of them may not have been able to accept it, may not have been able to get over the breakup. That is why it appears that he privately sought help from a specialist. Unfortunately, however, yesterday we reached this point, and we were informed of it in this tragic way by the family’s minor child. My colleagues arrived and confirmed that it was this particular colleague. They called the ambulance very quickly. There, the doctors did everything they could to keep this woman alive. Unfortunately, after a short while, we were informed that she had passed away,” he said.
