Harsh criticism from Maria Syregela directed at opposition following announcements by PASOK and Greek Left Coalition.

Regarding the announcements by PASOK and ELAS, she stressed that they are: “Most of what the opposition promises are empty checks. They’re outbidding each other on who will give the most. The opposition’s double-talk proves that things have been done. Otherwise, they would have rejected them outright. I was elected in Western Athens, and there—as well as throughout the country—people don’t want the “money trees” they were promised, which ultimately led them to the brink of ruin.”
