His views on the government’s political opponents, and especially on Nikos Androulakis and Alexis Tsipras, were reiterated once again by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis.

The health minister, referring to the leader of the Greek Left Coalition, described him as Machiavelli, arguing that “he’ll wipe them all out in SYRIZA like eggs.”

“Most people in SYRIZA are politically doomed because they can’t get into Parliament without Tsipras” he said pointedly.

Regarding the president of PASOK Nikos Androulakis, he stated that it is over, while regarding Anna Diamantopoulou , he noted that she has been sidelined within her party.

Speaking this morning (June 18) on a program on Action24, the health minister, when asked to comment on current political events, referred to Alexis Tsipras, stating:

“Tsipras, who is Machiavelli , set this whole thing up from the start; he never left SYRIZA, he sidelined them and let them be torn apart, devouring them one by one.

I’m struck by how the 15% in the polls; let me remind you that Kasselakis got 15.6% in the European elections.

Why was it a bitter failure for Kasselakis—who got torn apart at the bouzouki club —but a success for Tsipras?”

“Tsipras will wipe them all out like eggs—of the ones you see here, he won’t get three-quarters of them; at most, he’ll get Gero-Vassilis, Famellos, and Zachariadis—because if he takes too many, it’ll turn into SYRIZA and he’ll fall flat again.

Most of them are politically doomed because they can’t get into Parliament without Tsipras. “When elections are held, it’s over for Nikos Pappas, Rena Dourou, and Pavlos Polakis. None of them will run again,” he added in this context.

Diamantopoulou is a good politician, but she got the short end of the stick in her party

Referring to the feud between Diamantopoulou and Douka in PASOK, the Minister of Health and vice president of New Democracy said of the former minister, “She got the short end of the stick.”

At the party’s recent convention, Douka’s line prevailed, calling for a resolution stating that there is absolutely no chance they will ever cooperate with New Democracy. Although they denied Douka’s proposal on TV, it was approved.

Now I want to tell my dear Anna Diamantopoulou that it’s too late for tears now, because she can’t say anything since the convention decided that I won’t be working with Mitsotakis. She should have said all this before the PASOK convention.”

Androulakis is politically finished

Regarding the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, the health minister assessed that “he is politically finished. There are two paths ahead for Mr. Androulakis: either his own party will oust him before the elections, or if he drops below 10, there will be a bloodbath there.

It’s unlikely, however, to happen before the elections because he was recently re-elected and it would be seen as a betrayal. As soon as he loses the election, though, and comes in 3rd or 4th, they’ll take him down that very day. That’s the ABCs of politics.”

“He won’t get away with it because he missed his chance. Life gave him a chance to rise from nowhere to become the leader of the official opposition , and he had 2.5 years to get above 20%.

If he had surpassed 20%, Tsipras wouldn’t have been able to form a party. He took the party to 13% and kept it at 13% as the official opposition—that’s what Geroulanos was saying about a “stuck needle,” concluded Adonis Georgiadis regarding the president of PASOK-KINAL.
